How To Use The Wood Repair Set
Test a hidden spot before touching the visible damage. It's the easiest way to find a closer match and feel confident before you begin.
Safe to use around pets and kids when used as directed. Keep the set capped and out of reach when stored.
Step 1: Clean and test
Wipe the area clean of dust and polish residue so the color takes evenly. Then test your closest shade on an inconspicuous spot first, underside of a shelf, inside a drawer, to confirm the match before touching the visible damage.
Step 2: Fill if needed
For gouges, dents, or anywhere you can feel a dip with your fingernail, level the area with the included wax filler stick before you color. Coloring alone won't rebuild missing wood.
Step 3: Apply with the grain
Color in the direction of the wood grain, not across it. This is the single biggest factor in a repair looking natural.
Step 4: Layer a second shade
If the color needs to go darker or lighter, add a second shade on top while the first is still workable, blending as you go. Start light, test first, and add a little more color as needed.
Step 5: Wipe and set
Wipe excess with a soft cloth along the grain within the first minute for a clean, smudge-free finish. Dries quickly.
Good To Know
- Made for everyday touch-ups across floors, furniture, cabinets, doors, and trim
- Keep the cap tightly closed after each use so the tip stays fresh
- Marker seems dried out? Press the tip firmly against scrap wood or paper for a few seconds to work it loose again
- Wipe the marker tip or wax stick clean between shades so colors don't transfer
- Best for light to moderate scratches, scuffs, and claw marks. Missing chunks of wood are a job for a professional; not compatible with painted furniture or non-wood-tone laminate
